Minor CORRECTION – 5K STARTS in the parking lot across from OPEN EYE (Greensboro) in Carrboro. Registration is at 9am, start time is 10am.

If you can’t make it to the 5k, please consider donating to the KEMO Fund: There is a fund being established for Kaitlin to help with medical expenses and whatever else she and her family may need in the upcoming months. If you would like to help, please send checks written to Kaitlin Morelli to the following address: Teresa Vanderford, Kenan Football Center, PO Box 2126, Chapel Hill, NC 27515. Teresa is collecting the money and getting it to the family.

Soles,

It’s time for us to give a little back to a family that has given us all so much. As you know, Nana’s daughter, Kaitlin, has a rare and devastating cancer, mesothelioma, that was discovered during a recent open heart surgery. She has since undergone more surgery and is looking at a possible heart-lung transplant.

Friends and family are organizing to support Kaitlin and her family, including food and fund-raising. Jaime has rededicated a 5k that she was organizing for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute for the Morellis. Jaime has already received support from many in the community, including Fleet Feet, Al’s Burger, the Crepes Truck (yum!!!) and Townsend Bertram. Let’s all get out there and log some miles and show the Morellis some blazing love!

This 5k will be in Southern Village on 3/22 at 9am. See details in the poster attached.

Anyone who wants to volunteer some time, some cookies, some raffle prizes or whatever can drop Jaime (or me) a quick email.

Please forward this to anyone and everyone!

May the KEMO force be with you!
